ATTN: CHICAGO MOVIE GOERS!

Kerasotes Theaters on Western and Webster already offer $6 movies friday, saturday, and sunday before noon – an early bird special I happen to love. AND the theater on Western has $6 TUESDAY nights. Also awesome. BUT a long ignored superdeal has been right under my nose the whole time. THE FIVE BUCK CLUB!

If you’ve been to one of these theatres you’ve proably noticed in the commercials before the previews a bad animation of a yellow circley dude in a baseball cap at his computer typing away and sudden he screams “FIVE DOLLAR MOVIES? WHAAA?” I’ve seen the ad so many times I liked to mock his excitement.. I hated that awful yellow dude.. but I NEVER *listened* to him.. until a few days ago.

I mean – it seems too good! $5 movies? I thought it’d be one really shitty movie one day a week or something.. but I was wrong. Its a free card and it comes to you within two or three days- sign up your roommate too because each card is only good for one person. Each week they send you an email with the list of movies you can see with the deal and it’s seriously for half the movies in the theater!

I just saw Wanted. Worked like a charm! It wasn’t too good of a movie, but surely good enough for $5.

OMG. This movie is incredible. I don’t want to hype it up too much, because movies with a lot of hype rarely live up to it.. but I seriously, SERIOUSLY loved this movie. Maybe it was just the attachment I’ve had with the time period through reading the Clan of the Cave Bear series.. but they did a damn fine job if I do say so myself. I just want to go buy some deer hides and start wearing them wrapped around me, now thats some SERIOUS vintage clothing!

King Of Kong

So this is my first post I’m making kind of drunk. Mark KC and PAIGE are playing with card in the other room. I suck at cards! Paige is moving here – AWESOME! She got a sweet job for a lawn and garden trade magazine. We had a good non-vegan brunch today in which I desecrated Bowen’s cinnamon rolls with non-vegan ingredients. But what i really want to talk about is the movie KING OF KONG! Holy crap this was a damn fine movie. I don’t want to give too much away but this guy yeah that motherfucker! Billy Mitchell! He’s a mother fucker! He’s a big asshole bully! In the video game world! Fucking Donkey Kong even has smartass pompous bullies. Like, he’s a real life bad guy! AND don’t look at this until after you’ve seen the movie but it’s a dumb followup. But see the movie ASAP because it was highly enjoyable. I’m going back to the real world. Or looking at knitting patterns. Whatever.
